Fatima

God is offended by sins    Sins are serious. The Justice of God requires that reparation be made for the harm done by sin. One must atone for sin.    The New Church downplays the importance of sin. It is treated more as a negative lifestyle. Conversion of Sinners    God desires the conversion of sinners. “Would you like to offer your selves to God and accept any suffering that the Lord would send you in reparation for the countless sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversion of sinners?” Mary is telling the children that they can offer up suffering in order to gain the conversion of sinners.    The New Church does not explain and encourage the flock to offer suffering for the conversion of sinners.  Immaculate Heart    In the right palm of Our Lady’s hand was a heart surrounded by thorns seeming to pierce her heart. We understood it to be the Immaculate Heart of Mary, offended for the sins of humanity and desirous of reparation. Francisco, very impressed by the vision, asked me: “ Why was the Virgin holding a heart in her hand radiating over the world the great light of God? You, Lucia, were with Her in the light coming down on the earth and Jacinta was with me in the light going up to heaven.”    The New Church does not talk about the Heart Surrounded by Thorns.
